Kate and I found out about Depot Bike School in May, 2010. We were riding our folding bike and passing through every time we ride, one day we decided to check it out and see what’s going on there. We walked in and realized that there are so many bike activities every month, we were so excited about it, so we went home with a “I’m going to ride bike with them soon” thought.
Later, we joined bike + train trip to east of Taiwan on a two days activity in August, there, we met so many new friends and this group of people loves to ride bike like no one else.
I still remembered the first incident happened right after we left the train station less than 5K away, “someone” passed out in the middle of road, while I was still wondering what happened, I saw “one guy” ran toward to “someone” and pulled him out of road to avoid busy traffic might cause more serious accident. I was amazed at how fast people help each other when accident happens.
Due to I still not adjust Taiwan’s HOT weather well enough, I found myself almost fainted under the sun, not to say riding a folding bike in such high temperature, I feel like I was dying. However, the power of keeping me ride to the end is the friendly staffs and volunteers continuous encouragement, that is something I never experienced before, makes me feel so warm and respectful.
I never knew that you can ride bike like this, never had other groups hold activities like Depot Bike School. I’m becoming a family to this big warm place where we can hang out and spend time together. Depot Bike School, it is so good to have you (倉庫自行車學校,有你真好).
PS: “Someone” is now part of Depot Bike School friend; “one guy” is also friend of Depot Bike School and a very important one ^^.
